POST CARDS!

Step 1 - Thumbnails always help!
I recently got post cards made to send out to friends and family for Christmas this year. I will also be sending them out to employers when I FINALLY graduate in four weeks. Anyway, just to be fun, here is my step by step process of how I put together my post cards...ENJOY!!!

Step 2 - I lay out a simple sketch of shapes to get the formation I want.

Step 3 - One GIANT leap to a line/detail drawing.

Step 4 - Ink on tracing paper.

Step 5 - Scan

Step 6 - Print & point lines to what part of the figure I want to have colored.

Step 8 - On tracing paper I color in with a light blue color pencil where I want the dark lights to hit on the figure.

Step 10 - Even though it is on tracing paper, there are still a few messy parts that need to be cleaned up...
Step 11 - Adjust levels to get clean and crisp black lines.
Step 12 - Color layout.
Step 13 - Color shade layout
Step 14 - Word bubbles are always nice!
Step 15 - POSTCARD MADE! Time to send out!

New Blood

OKAY! Time to get this blog started! I have been SUPER busy with finishing up school, freelance work, working as a clerk at a meat shop, trying to make time for friends and family and exercise...But I am still managing to make it all work.
I will be posting more work on here then on my actual website. I'll use this site just to get a generalized idea of how it is that I work to complete my illustration and design work.
Here is the first illustration I will share of a mercenary I worked on a long while back. He started out as a sketch turned to fully rendered drawing, then turned over to illustrator...ENJOY!
